There’s advertising and there’s story telling. The latter of which potentially has the power to resonate much stronger than conventional marketing . Jim Beam has released new content exemplifying this. Notice how I didn’t say they have a new “ad”, but rather a piece of media.
This is an amazing piece of story telling. They’re not selling the product. Rather, they are tying together images and emotions that run deep within all of us. Choices, regrets, alternate routes, discretionary decisions that lead to outcomes whether they be good, bad or indifferent are all things that we all relate to. That’s why this piece works so well. Hats off to the Jim Beam, the agency – Strawberry Frog – that created it and Willem Dafoe who is amazing here!
